It’s also encouraging that Chief Minister has authorized local body’s representatives to monitor hospitals, dispensaries, educational institutions and water schemes and directed them to dispatch the complaints to said cell, believes CSB.
CSB hopes that this would prove to be a sound step to empower local government bodies to improve public services and accountability through establishing institutionalized mechanisms.
“Efforts should be made to implement it with easy access to all sections of citizens specially women and people with disabilities,” said Sami Zarkoon, Convener of CSB.
CSB appreciated the use of technology as the complaints could be received through telephone, fax, letter and WhatsApp while the complaint cell would soon be attached with call center and facility of Google application would be provided as now many counties are making best use of these technologies through successful programs of e-governance approaches of development and reforms in public services.
CSB also expects that this initiative would provide basis for active citizen engagement, public accountability and most important matter is the remedies and solution oriented steps to address the complaints.
“CSB also emphasizes on public awareness about Public Complaint Cell and would make all efforts to educate citizens about this service,” added Mr. Zarkoon.
