According to the Marxist theory of determinism the Economic sources and resources determines the social phenomenon prevailing in any society. Geography is one of another determinant for income sources of a particular society. Balochistan is mountainous region with extreme weather conditions characterized with a vast arid land. Tribalism has been system of governance and Nomadism the life style. Thus, geographical phenomenon had been hindrance in the prosperity in the lives of habitants of Balochistan. But at least the shackle of primitive lifestyle of people of Balochistan is broken and people are aspiring to endeavor towards a modern educated and refined life-style for which the education is the fastest path but for the bad luck of the natives standard education is a rare commodity and if it is available to some extent the educated wrangle without jobs in disillusionment about their future.
Modern means are changed all over the world. Agriculture, Industries, financial along with service sectors is considered the most important job providing sectors. Unfortunately, none of the above sector exists in its full-fledged form. Education is considered important for stepping-in the above mentioned job creating sectors which is another scarce commodity in Balochistan. It is state’s responsibility to provide quality education to all and sundry. The graph of literacy rate is again going downwards since 2010. It is said that collective conscience is one of the main reason behind the current uprising and that conscience is the result of education in Baloch. This rhetoric is right to some extent as the velocity of resistance is higher in those areas where the literacy rate is high; what about those who want to stay within framework of state? People of Balochistan could not resist the fastest change on global domain. People are trying to educate their children within their limited resources. Thousands of graduates are completing their graduate and post-graduate degrees. There is no sector that can merge all of these. Their talents along with their degrees get rusted. Jobs that are announced in different departments are so less in number. And those who have close affiliation with those who are on the helm of affairs get clerical jobs. There is a Public service commission which in recent times is in news for corruption. On the other hand provincial Quota in Federal jobs is also equal to none. Central civil services can only allocate ten to twelve vacancies annually. There is no hope for the youth a sense of deprivation and hopelessness prevails in society which is one main reason for many social evils. Many of them are joining the armed ranks in despair.
To summarize, Balochistan is the least developed province in the region and despite its importance in news nothing had been done to improve the life standards of people of Balochistan. Educated youth, thousands in numbers, is going to waste due to the reluctance of the governments who do nothing on ground expect false claims. The remissness towards educated youth, if not listened to their miseries, will not only lead to the loss of well-stocked minds but also disappoint coming generations towards education; this circle has already been resulted in downslide school enrollment. Thus, opportunities must be created along with providing education to reach the real destination of education which leads to boon of a civilized society.
