Support of Entire Society Required for Enrollment Campaign: Rahim Ziaratwal

Quetta: Provincial Minister for Education, Abdul Rahim Ziaratwal, has requested people from all walks of life to support the enrollment campaign initiated by Balochistan government.
He made this appeal while addressing a press conference in Quetta Press Club, on Monday. He was flanked by Manzoor Ahmad Kakar, Member of Provincial Assembly from Quetta, Abdul Saboor Kakar, Secretary Education and Naeem Bazai, District Chairman Quetta.
Educational year would start in winter zone of Balochistan from 1st March and in that context Press conference was conducted.
Mr. Ziaratwal appealed political parties, media and people of civil society to support the ongoing enrollment campaign.
Previously small scale enrollment campaigns were carried out in the province, its first time that provincial government has started a full scale province wide campaign.

“Committees have been formed in every district that will go door to door to ask people to enroll their kids in school,” said Mr. Ziaratwal.

Speaking at the occasion, Mr. Ziaratwal asked the media spread the message of enrollment to the masses.
“People have lost faith in educational system of the government, none of Deputy Commissioners (DCs) allow their children to study in schools in the district where they are posted,” lamented Mr. Ziaratwal.
He vowed to restore the faith of public in education system through the ongoing enrollment campaign.
He also announced that loudspeakers of Mosques will be used to urge people to enroll their kids in school.
Provincial minister further added, “Matriculation exams will commence from tomorrow and there will be zero tolerance for cheating.”
Provincial minister announced that all district education officers will be engaged in controlling cheating in their concerned district.

Government has stopped budget of 900 ghost schools – Saboor Kakar

Mr. Saboor Kakar said that government has stopped budget of 900 ghost schools that were detected during the assessment carried out by the government.
“We have terminated hundreds of ghost teachers and will do more as we discover,” added Mr. Kakar.
Secretary Education revealed that Real Time School Monitoring system will be implemented soon which will end the practice of ghost schools.
