Sawad Dam Affectees Would be Provided Compensation and Jobs: DC

Gwadar: Sawad Dam affectees would be provided compensation for their lost land and jobs by the provincial government. An alternative residential scheme would also be started for the affectees.
This was announced by Tufail Baloch, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Gwadar, while talking to media on Sunday.
DC received applications from the Sawad Dam affectees and ensured that government will make good its promises very soon.

“150 families are affected by the Sawad Dam and they will be provided alternative residence,” said DC Gwadar.
In the first phase applications are being received by the affectees and residential scheme would be commenced after approval from the provincial government.

Problem of payment of compensation to Sawad Dam victims has been solved and payment will be made soon, said DC.
Tufail Baloch further said that Sawad Dam is an important reservoir in district Gwadar and it will help in solving water crisis in Gwadar.
He apprised the media that 95 percent work has been completed on dam and it will be completed after payment of compensation to the affectees.
“GDA is working on installing a pipeline that would be used to supply water to Gwadar city from the Sawad dam,” said Mr. Baloch.
He also assured that the affectees of the dam that they would be provided with Jobs.
