Tania Baloch Appointed as Deputy Chairperson of CPNE Women Editors Committee

Quetta: Tania Baloch, Editor-in-Chief of Balochistan Inside Magazine, has been appointed as the deputy chairperson of the women editors committee of Council of Pakistan Newspaper Editors (CPNE).
Tania Baloch is the first woman Editor from Balochistan to be appointed on this position.

This announcement was made through a notification on last Sunday after meeting of the standing committee of the CPNE. Zia Shahid, President of CPNE, approved the appointment of women Editors Committee members.

CPNE is the nationwide representative body of the editors of the print newspapers and magazines in Pakistan.
Women Editors Committee comprises of 10 members and Chairperson of the committee is Zahida Abbasi.

A lot needs to be done to encourage the females to join print media in Balochistan – Tania Baloch

Mandate of the committee is to highlight the problems faced by women journalists in the field and suggest solutions for them.
Talking to Balochistan Voices, Tania Baloch said that a lot needs to be done to encourage the females to join print media in Balochistan. She lamented the non-conducive environment for journalists in Balochistan in financial terms and vowed to play her role as deputy chairperson of women editors Committee of CPNE to resolve the problems.
