International Volunteer’s Day and Award Ceremony in Dalbandin

Dalbandin: A program was organized at Press Club Dalbandin by Sangat Society (SSDHR), Mir Ibrahim Reki Foundation (MIRF) and Sardar Hashim Khan Sanjrani Foundation (SMHKSF) to commemorate International Volunteer’s Day and honor of local Volunteers and Position holder students of 5th, 8th, 9th and 10th Classes.
The International Volunteer’s Day (IVD) mandated by the UN General Assembly, is held each year on 5 December. It is viewed as a unique chance for volunteers and organizations to celebrate their efforts, to share their values, and to promote their work among their communities, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), government authorities and the private sector.
The occasion was chaired by the Head of Programs and Founder Azat Foundation, Mr. Gul Khan Naseer and the Chief Guest was Ex-DEO and Educationist Gul Jan Sabir while the other speakers included, Haji Abdul Rehman Reki (Ex-DDO education) Leader of PML-N, Mr. Zahoor Ahmed Reki (Executive member MIRF), Mr. Allauddin Sanjrani (Chairman SMHKSF), Mr. Ibrahim Reki (General Secretary (SSDHR), M.Hassan Qamar (Educationist), Haji Zaman gorgaje (Senior Journalist), Idrees Baloch (Youth Coordinator (SSDHR) and Waqar Reki (Chairman Reki Education Foundation) and Fazlullah Reki.

The speakers highlighted the history of volunteerism and volunteer day, importance of volunteerism and role of volunteers in the society. They highlighted the work of renowned international, national and local volunteers e.g. Abdul Sattar Edhi, Mother Tresa etc. They emphasized that government particularly social welfare department should celebrate this day and grant awards to volunteers of different sectors. Janziab and Mohammad Waseem, the students of Azat Foundation Public School Dalbandin highlighted the importance of education and the relation between education and volunteerism in their speeches at the beginning of the program and received overwhelming appreciation from the speakers and audience. The speakers’ appreciated and hard work of the toppers at district level in 5th, 8th, 9th and 10th Classes and for securing the first position in their respective classes. The First positions holders were given Awards (Shields) and Cash prized from Sangat Society (SSDHR), Mir Ibrahim Reki Foundation (MIRF); Sardar Hashim Khan Sanjrani Foundation (SMHKSF) to appreciate them and encourage other students to work hard.
