NAB Accepts Rs. 2 billion Plea Bargain of Mushtaq Raisani

Quetta: In a surprising move, National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has accepted the plea bargain request of Mushtaq Raisani, Balochistan’s former finance secretary as well as Sohail Majeed Shah, the contractor and front man of Khalid Langove, the former adviser to chief minister Balochistan for finance, on Wednesday.
Mushtaq Raisani and Sohail Shah would pay Rs. 2 billion to NAB as a part of the plea bargain deal. NAB has already recovered Rs. 1 billion in cash and taken control of 12 houses of Mushtaq Raisani in Karachi worth Rs. 2 billion, said the press release issued by NAB.

Effectively NAB would receive Rs. 5 billion in Total from Mushtaq Raisani and Sohail Shah for their alleged corruption of Rs. 40 billion in the biggest Plea bargain deal in history.
NAB has arrested Mushtaq Raisani on massive corruption charges on 7th May this year which was one of the biggest anti-corruption raids in history of the country.

The executive board meeting (EBM) of NAB under the chairmanship of Qamar Zaman Chaudhry accepted plea bargain request for Rs. 2bn. Earlier the same EBM had put the corruption figure of Mushtaq Raisani at Rs. 40 billion.
