First Ever Elections of Gwadar Press Club Held

Quetta: First ever elections of Gwadar Press Club were successfully held on Monday. Senior Journalist Bahram Baloch was elected President of Gwadar Press Club for 2017-18 session.
Bahram Baloch works for Daily Intehkab as Bureau chief and as stringer for Dawn Newspaper in Gwadar. He defeated Noor Mohsin for the office of President of Gwadar Press Club.
This is the fourth time that Bahram Baloch has become the President of Gwadar Press Club. Earlier, office bearers of the Press Club were selected based on mutual consensus this is first time that proper election has been conducted to choose office bearers.
Among other office bearers, Murad Salik was elected General Secretary, Akhtar Malang as Vice President and Javed Ahmed was elected as the treasurer of the Press Club. Sadaqat Ali was elected Joint Secretary unopposed.
Journalists from all over Balochistan congratulated the newly elected officer bearers of Gwadar Press Club and wished them best of luck for the next session.
Gwadar Press Club has total 19 members and it has become important in last few years due to China Pakistan Economic Corridor. Different newspapers and channels are contemplating to establish their bureaus in Gwadar given the expected development in the city.
