Like everybody in society, students in University are well aware of University environment. The choice depends upon them whether they avail of that opportunity to make their future bright or lose it with a junky Activity. Students leave homes to get enlightened in order to compete with the world in the field of education from universities, but, if students remain threatened from fellow students, is there any hope that threatened students will excel in future?
The recent wave of violence against fellow students at University of  Punjab is the second spate of  ‘vandalism’ which took place soon after Jumna Prayer on 8th and 10th February when a small group of students, standing in front of cafeteria, were attacked by IJT activists, wielding heavy sticks. Their hooliganism continued more than 2 days where more than 5 students hailing from FATA and Baluchistan got injuries; many students remained besieged in a single hostel.
Next day students from the University, showing unity, held a protest against IJT’s unabated vandalism. Students recorded their protest to the Administration but unfortunately it fell into the deaf ears and no action was taken by the Administration of University. The students held a rally in front of VC office demanding justice from administration as well from the government of Punjab but any possible action form administration still remains to be seen.
However, the students who come from across the country to complete their graduation from the University of Punjab feel threatened in the hands IJT activists and are unable to concentrate on their education instead they remain concerned about their protection. The Punjab University administration shall take immediate action against those who were involved in this spate of hooliganism.
