Private schools teachers are playing an important role in promoting education without any financial support from government side in Balochistan. They are compelled to serve with low salaries.
It is heart-rending to mention that we are facing a lot of hurdles in line of duty, said Mr. Adil Nazeer Hassani, a private school teacher while talking to Balochistan Voices.
There is no Job security in Private schools for teaching staff in Balochistan. Health and other policies also do not exist. Qualified B.Ed and Primary Teaching Certificate holder teachers are compelled to fulfill their duty with very low salaries of 3 to 5 thousand rupees. They are deprived of pick and drop facilities.
The private school teachers lamented that they are not allowed to take leave more than 2 days per month, if their leave exceed from limit than they have to pay it from their salaries 150 to 250 per day.
Another teacher who wish not to be named told Balochistan Voices that he has not been paid salary while he was on leave to appear for exams of B.Ed recently.
Female teachers told Balochistan Voices that it is unfair that the school administration collect full fee of summer vacations from all students but the teachers are deprived of salaries during vacations.
Government teachers, on the other hand, are being facilitated by all kind of provisions such as basic health allowances, educational scholarships, house requisition, annual increments, bonus and etc. The government teachers have also enough salaries. They told that their salaries also deduct during summer vacations and also on annual ending month December.
The Balochistan government has also passed Private Regulatory Bill 2015 aimed at setting up an authority to keep checking on implementation of laws, unnecessary increase in school fee, provision of required facilities and quality education and make private educational institutions accountable to improve the quality of education in province.
Nawaz Pandrani President All Balochistan Progressive Private Schools Association told Balochistan Voices that the salaries are being observed and fixed by concerned school officials. There is no financial budget from government of Balochistan for private schools.
He further added we have also submitted a proposal of demand and other needs to former Chief Minister Balochistan but no action was taken.
Mr. Pandrani lamented that Private regulatory bill has been passed to fulfill self-demands. Some selected people are getting benefits of this bill.
The Private School teachers demand from Chief Minister Balochistan Nawab Sana Ullah Khan Zehri to take action against responsible people and tackle their salary and other problems on urgent basis.
