Trade and Peace on Border with Pakistan Important for Iran

Quetta: Trade and Peace on border with Pakistan is very important for Iran which has positive relations with Pakistan in different fields from the very beginning. This was said by Mohammad Rafiei Consular General of Islamic Republic of Iran- in Quetta while addressing a press conference, on Thursday.
We are mainly focusing on strengthening ties with Pakistan in the areas of trade and economics. Basic purpose of holding press conference was to focus on trade and further enhancing economic relations with Pakistan, added Iranian counsel General.
“The aim of this press conference is to take a look at Pak-Iran trade and economic ties in a year, however, we also have to bring to light the recent tragic incident on Iran’s border with Pakistan,” added Mr. Rafiei.
He said that Iran wants to increase trade volume with Pakistan to $5 billion but for that peace needs to be restored at border.
Referring to Incident in Mir javeh where ten Iranian border guards were killed and one of them is still missing, Consel General urged that perpetrators must be brought to book.
Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mohammad Javed Zarif held six meetings with Pakistan’s civil and military leaderships in six hours after the incident. “Foreign Minister was warmly welcomed which is a sign that Pakistan wants positive relations with Iran.”
