Parliamentarian’s Tax Directory: Rozi Khan Kakar Highest Taxpayer From Balochistan

Quetta: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has released the Parliamentarian’s Tax Directory for the year ended 30th June 2016 and Senator Rozi Khan Kakar of PPP is the highest taxpayer from Balochistan with amount of Rs. 49 million.
Senator Jehanzeb Jamaldini is lowest taxpayer with an amount of Rs. 4,451 and Federal Minister for Ports and Shipping Mir Hasil Bizenjo didn’t file tax return, as per the tax directory released by FBR on Thursday.
FBR releases Tax details of all parliamentarians annually since 2013. Parliamentarians Tax Directory contains taxes paid by Senators, MNAs and members of all provincial Assemblies for Tax year ended at 30th June every year.

This year Tax Directory contains tax returns filed by all parliamentarians for the tax year 30th June 2016 which were filed till 26th July 2017.
Amongst the 22 senators from Balochistan, 20 filed returns for the year 2015-16. Senator Rozi Khan Kakar paid Rs. 49 million, Senator Kabir Muhammad Shahi of NP paid Rs. 5.4 million and Senator Yousaf Badini of PPP paid Rs. 3.2 Million in Tax. Senator Jehanzeb Jamaldini paid lowest amount of tax not only in senate but amongst all parliamentarians of Balochistan including National and Balochistan Assembly.

Federal Minister for Ports and Shipping Mir Hasil Bizenjo didn’t file tax return

Jam Kamal, State Minister for Petroleum and Natural resources, paid tax of Rs. 4 million which was highest among the MNAs from Balochistan. Federal Minister for SAFFRON, Lt. General (R) Abdul Qadir Baloch paid taxes of Rs. 113,003.
Amongst MNAs Lowest amount of tax paid was Rs. 17,470 which was paid by Mehmood Khan Achakzai leader of PKMAP, Syed Essa Noori of BNP, Molvi Qamar Dini and Molvi Agha Muhammad of JUI. Exact same amount of tax paid by four MNAs hint that this amount is minimum tax deducted at source from MNAs. All 17 MNAs from Balochistan filed tax returns for the given year.

Mehmood Khan Achakzai paid taxes of Rs. 17,470 which is lowest in National Assembly

Out of 65 members of Balochistan Assembly, 57 filed tax returns. Akbar Askani of PML-N was the highest taxpayer who paid taxes of Rs. 2.6 million. Hammal Kalmati of BNP paid Rs. 2.047 Million and Sardar Raza Barech of PKMAP paid taxes pf Rs. 2.035 million. Mir Aamir Rind of PML-N paid the lowest amount of tax which is Rs. 950,614.
Nawab Sanaullah Khan Zehri, Chief Minister Balochistan, paid taxes of Rs. 1.411 Million and Sardar Akhtar Mengal, President of BNP, paid taxes of Rs. 1.374 million.

Balochistan Assembly members paid taxes around Rs. 1.5 million on average. Again, that hints that high amount of taxes is deducted at source from salaries of MPAs which are higher than salaries of Senators and MNAs.
