Quetta: Islamabad Police raided the protest camp of Baloch council in Quaid-e-Azam University (QAU) early Monday morning and arrested more than 50 students including members of Pashtun council who were showing solidarity with Baloch Council.
Baloch students of QAU were protesting for last 20 days against the expulsion of Baloch students after a clash with Sindhi students earlier this year.
It’s not possible to confirm the exact number of students arrested by Police. Contradicting claims are being made by different people on social media about the number of arrested students.
Earlier, protest in QAU was carried out by 6 councils under umbrella of QSF but all other councils expect Baloch could pulled out of protest on 19th October after negotiations with the QAU and city administration.
The police action against Baloch students was widely condemned on social media where people in large numbers showed solidarity with Baloch students of QAU.
