Chagai: Nine People Die due to Measles

DALBANDIN: At least 9 people most of them are children have lost their lives due to Measles in Chagai district since its inception from Pak Afghan border on December 10.
According to official sources, the first case was reported from Koh Pusht in Pak Afghan Border Where a man and Two Women lost their lives after being affected by Measles.
Gradually this virus traveled in the majority of bordering areas with Afghanistan and finally reached in Pak-Iran border town Kachao.
According to sources, 3 Children lost their lives in Doguwanan area and surroundings on Sunday and another 10 years old Child from Kallag Maindu have died due to Measles fever.
Approximately hundreds of Children were found infected by Measles in Pak Afghan border areas as well as in Chagai town, Dalbandin city, and surroundings.
According to official sources, Health Department’s Anti Measles Vaccination teams have vaccinated more than 3 thousand children in almost Pak Afghan border areas, Chagai town, Dalbandin, and surroundings but the virus seems to be circulating rapidly.
People from far-flung areas complained about non-availability of Vaccinating teams.
PPP Dalbandin announced demonstration rally against District health Officer Chagai on Wednesday for his failure about achieving control on Measles virus.
