Quddus Bizenjo Elected Chief Minister of Balochistan

Quetta: Abdul Quddus Bizenjo, member of Provincial Assembly from Awaran district and belonging to Pakistan Muslim League (PML), was elected Chief Minister (CM) of Balochistan, on Saturday.
Quddus Bizenjo got 41 votes and Syed Liaqat Agha of Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PKMAP) managed to get 13 votes in the election for CM of Balochistan.
National Party abstained from voting but its three members Khalid Langove, Mujeeb Ur Rehman Muhammad Hasni and Fateh Buledi defected and voted for Quddus Bizenjo. Likewise, Manzoor Kakar of PKMAP also defected and voted for Quddus Bizenjo against PKMAP’s candidate.
Office of CM Balochistan was declared vacant when former CM Sanaullah Zehri resigned on 9th January just hours before the session where a no-confidence motion was to be tabled against him.
A no-confidence motion was presented by a group of PML-N and PML dissidents led by Quddus Bizenjo.
Cabinet members taking oath
Later, in the evening Quddus Bizenjo along with his 14 member cabinet took an oath of office. Governor Balochistan Mohammad Khan Achakzai administered an oath to them. Cabinet of Quddus Bizenjo includes 11 members from PML-N and one member each from PML-Q, PKMAP and Majlis e Wahdat Muslimeen (MWM).
