Politics itself is a field through which human society achieve prosperity and pave the ways towards progress. Politicians are caretakers of the political system who take the responsibility to run the matters of state and facilitate the masses.
Haplessly, in our country, this noble field’s name spoiled by some greedy and corrupt politicians and tarnished its goodwill. Some black sheep hijacked the power corridors and always strive to get accomplished their vested interests. They always consider their personal interest superior to the national interest. Karl Marx once said, “The oppressed are allowed once every few years to decide which particular representatives of the oppressing class are to represent and repress them.”
Once a sage man said that none of the states gets complete peace and prosperity until justice denied, and all people are not treated equally before the law of the land. In the case of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan where we see apparent discrimination, while the elites are having an exemption, but the poor to be caught and proceeded under the strict laws. As Nelson Mandela said, “A Nation should not be judged by how it treats its highest citizens, but it’s lowest ones”.
Here politics for political opportunists is considered as the only thing to loot the deprived and poor masses. Instead of addressing the problems so-called political bigwigs are the reason to hike public hardships. When we shed light on the current political scene of our country, we see all energy of our politician being consumed to hide their wrongdoing or corruption scandals.
The deprived people striving hard for their survival, facing the unemployment, healthcare issues, rundown to give their beloved children the standardized and up to date education, but the so-called politician busy to utilize latest and unique techniques how to loot the national exchequer and steal the rights of hard-working but financially pebbled masses of this nation.
The country does not escape from the political will. The competent, motivated, courageous, dynamic and meritorious youths are not being allowed to take part in the political process of the country. The Ex-party leader’s spouses and relatives captured the main positions that are also a matter of concern needs to be taken into consideration as early as possible. Plato explained that “One of the penalties for refusing to participate in politics is that you end up being governed by your inferiors.”
Forthcoming general elections expected to be held on 25th of July this year in Pakistan. The talented and deserving youths must come forward to spread political and social awareness through the door to door campaigns. If we really curious to bring a long-lasting, progressive and public-oriented change in our country then we ought to educate the people about their rights over government and make them able to realize on it that their votes are not just a piece of paper that they cast in election day but it’s a powerful tool which would change their future, would be a reason to wipe out their deprivation and track them on the road towards progress and prosperity if they do select right men as their representatives. Once Frederick Douglass said, “Knowledge makes a man unfit to be a slave.”  Say no to status quo in upcoming general elections, first scrutinize the right candidate then cast your vote, use your right of vote for prosperous and corruption-free Pakistan.
