Quetta: Balochistan High Court (BHC) has approved hearing of Saqiba suicide case after a sit-in protest from the family of Saqiba, on Wednesday.
Saqiba was a 17 year old girl from Muslim Bagh town of district Killa Saifullah who committed suicide on 12th February when Principal of Inter-girls College refused to forward her admission forms for final exams. Earlier, Saqiba had led a protest against principal in Quetta.
On Wednesday morning, relatives and fellows of Saqiba Kakar reached outside BHC and held a sit in protest demonstration which lasted for 3 hours.
Protestors included brother father and sisters of Saqiba along with dozens of other people. Members of civil society also joined the protest to show their solidarity.
Protestors were holding placards which demanded government to take action against the people who were responsible for the suicide of Saqiba Kakar. They also chanted slogans against the principal of Inter Girls College and demanded her termination from the job.
They also demanded that Inter-girls college of MuslimBagh should be named after Saqiba.
Political leaders from different parties joined the protest to express their support. Sardar Asghar Khan Achakzai provincial President of ANP, Nawabzada Hamayoun Jogezai of PTI and Sadiq Umrani provincial President of PPP joined the protestors.

Family of Saqiba and Balochistan bar association jointly filed an application in BHC to hear the case of Saqiba.
BHC approved the application and formed one member bench under Justice Shakeel Baloch.
BHC also served notices to DPO and DC Killa Saifullah, Secretary Home and Secretary Education.
Addressing a press conference, Abdul Hakeem Father of Saqiba postponed the protest till 29th February. “If a judicial commission is not formed till 29th [February] to investigate the case of Saqiba then we will carry out a sit-in outside Chief Ministers House for an indefinite period,” Mr. Hakeem told newsmen.
Protestors dispersed peacefully after the announcement of decision of BHC.
