Baloch Culture day is celebrated on 2nd March every year to promote Balochi culture.
Balochistan Voices talked with different people and took their comments on what they think about Baloch Culture Day.
Ruqqaiya Saeed Hashmi, Member of Balochistan Assembly said Baloch are brave, courageous, gallant, magnanimous and greathearted. On the eve of cultural day, I wish for all Baloch to live peacefully filled with love. Balochistan is a garden where Baloch, Hazara, Pashtun, Sindhi and Panjabi all are colorful flower of it. I wish for the peaceful Balochistan and prosperous Pakistan.
Zubeda Jalal, Former Federal Minister, said that Baloch culture is more than its music and arts, its values and ethics are also important. Today is a day where it’s time for us to reflect on this and try to imbibe the values of old humanistic traditions music and culture in every Baloch child born today and tomorrow.
Dostain Jamaldini, Chairman of Gwadar Port Authority (GPA) said that his day should emerge as a great day for Baloch to introduce the community as a joyful, vibrant, liberal, forward-looking and peaceful nation. World needs to know much about Baloch, Balochi and Brahvi languages, and Balochistan. Similarly, the Baloch too needs to know about her/him-self. From exhibiting the Baloch artifacts, gradually the community should also focus on knowing and expressing its cultural values and beliefs.

Zahoor Buledi, former Member of Balochistan Assembly, said that Culture day is a good initiative. Every nation has the right to project his culture, traditions and language. I appreciated Vsh news channel who took lead role in the celebration of Baloch Culture day.
Tania Baloch, Editor of Balochistan Inside Magazine, said that best thing about Baloch culture is the protection of women rights. Being a journalist, I feel that in other parts of the country female journalists suffer a lot but in Balochistan female journalists get a lot of respect due to the Baloch culture. How much pride a Baloch man has on his traditional Shalwar he should also have for women and should respect them.
Shah Jahan Baloch, a social development practitioner, said that It’s a very positive initiative and emerging as one of the leading cultural events in Pakistan. It’s the best societal way of expression and awareness about Baloch culture. This day conveys the true image of Balochistan, which has always been misunderstood. Even the mainstream media has not been able to promote the beauty if Balochistan with its diversity, which is a social strength of any society. Baloch Culture day will also promote the positive values of Baloch culture and awareness to the new generation. It’s also a unifying factor and can be supportive in conflict prevention.
Shazia Langove, Secretary Women’s wing Quetta Chapter of National Party, said that for me my culture is the most beautiful and attractive culture, I love my Balochi language, customs, dresses, music and food. I have been to so many countries and everywhere have been noticed because of my typical Balochi dress which has Beauty and attraction. Especially the rituals and custom of different occasions and the hospitality by Baloch is appreciated in all over the world. The bravery, love, respect and honor a women gets is pride of a Baloch.
Jalila Haider advocate, a social activist, said that on Baloch culture day it feels so good seeing people enjoying their culture. It shows how rich is their civilization. I can see that after 15 years of bloodshed and terror, people came out of their homes and celebrated this day. A colorful culture, music art and language can lead a peaceful society, and we are enjoying the same today on Baloch culture day.
