Quetta: The seventh Convocation of Sardar Bahaduar Khan Women’s University (SBKWU) was held in Quetta in which more than 263 students received their master’s degree, on Tuesday.
Governor Balochistan Muhammad Khan Achakzai distributed degrees among the students in the convocation.
Speaker Balochistan Assembly Raheela Durrani, Advisor to CM on Information Sardar Raza Barech, Vice Chancellors (VCs) of other Universities and large number of parents of students attended the ceremony.
“SBK is the only women university in Balochistan that has been producing highly educated and enlightened women which indicates positive changes and social revolution in Balochistan,” Governor Muhammad Khan Achakzai said while addressing the ceremony.

Advising the students he said, they should continue to acquire new knowledge and implement what they have learnt in the university, so they can contribute their role for the betterment society.
Talking about the unemployment in the province Governor Balochistan said, “Fortunately In next couple of years, massive economic changes are expected in Balochistan that will provide job opportunities for women as well.”
Meanwhile Governor of Balochistan honored 16 students with gold medals and applauded their courage towards study.
“Today we received the price of our all hard work we pursue during our studying period and we really want to thank our parents and teachers that they trusted on us,” said Misaal Fatima who completed her masters.
Faiza Nadeem the gold medalist said, I want to urge other parents to allow their children particularly girls towards education, “We [girls] are strong enough to achieve the goals as much as boys are and we can bring pride for the country,” she added.
Addressing the students, VC of SBKWU Rukhsana Jabeen said, “You all are ambassadors of this university, assist us in achieving our mission and become efficient and responsible parts of the society.
Talking about the security arrangements in the premises of Women University she said, after the horrific attack three years back, our university has adopted strict security measures to provide safe environment to the students.
