Quetta: Story telling workshop was held in local hotel of Quetta under the auspices of Children Literature Festival, on Tuesday.
Story telling workshop, a part of children literature festival, was held with the support of Alif Ailan education advocacy group.
Children Literature Festival is an education reforms campaign aiming to ensure that education quality and learning outcomes begin to occupy increased space in the education discourse.
Expert storytellers facilitated the politicians in holding a storytelling session with children in government schools.
Heads of Civil Society organizations working for education claimed that political appointments in education sector are reason for abysmal quality of education in the province.
Participants claimed that government has only increased funds of education which can’t be solution for education related problems of the province.
According to the statistics presented in the workshop the increase in education budget from 5 to 28 percent has only improved 28 percent of the schools.
Participants of the workshop included Senator Kabir Muhammad Shahi, advisor to Chief Minister (CM) on Information and Law Sardar Raza Barech, former Caretaker CM Nawab Ghaus Baksh Barozai, former Deputy Speaker Abdul Quddus Bizenjo, Member of Provincial Assembly Yasmeen Lehri, Spokesman of JUI-F Hafiz Hussain Ahmed, former Federal Minister Zubeda Jalal and Anchor person Farhea Idrees.
