Quetta: Balochistan National Party (BNP) has announced to call another All Parties conference (APC) on issues of Balochistan in Islamabad on 12th July.
This announcement was made by President of BNP, Sardar Akhtar Mengal, while addressing a press conference at his residence in Quetta, on Saturday.
During the press conference, Former Chief Minister Sardar Akhtar Mengal was flanked by Senator Jehanzeb Jamaldini, Malik Abdul Wali Kakar, Malik Naseer Shahwani and Agha Hassan Baloch.
Press Conference was carried out after the conclusion of two day meeting of central committee of BNP.
“We conducted an APC in Islamabad few months back but government did not take any action on the suggestions made in that APC so a new APC will be called by the party,” announced Akhtar Mengal.
BNP chief said that People of Balochistan have a lot of reservations on the way China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) would impact their lives and future. “There are still a lot of unresolved issues relating to Gwadar port and CPEC and we will raise them in forthcoming APC,” said Mr. Mengal.
He announced that Intellectuals, columnists and TV anchors would also be invited in the forthcoming APC besides political leaders.
Addressing the ongoing anti-corruption drive, former CM said that corruption cannot take place without the involvement of Chief Minister.
“It’s completely wrong if someone claims that all corruption took place under my noise and I was not aware of it,” said Akhtar Mengal while referring to statement of Dr. Malik Baloch made in Balochistan Assembly.
Mr. Mengal offered that accountability should be started from the year 1997 when he was the CM of Balochistan.
“Those who claim to start negotiations with the Baloch insurgents should be asked that how much successful they have been in their efforts,” asked Akhtar Mengal.
Expressing his reservations on the recently concluded agreement with Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL), Mr. Mengal said that “Provincial government should have collected full details about PPL and Gas prices before extending lease to PPL for another 10 years.”
