Gwadar: Local body representatives of Gwadar city have lamented the long list of problems faced by people of Gwadar, in a press conference on Wednesday.
Press conference was addressed by Abid Sohrabi Chairman of Municipal Committee Gwadar. He was flanked by vice chairman Municipal Committee Haji Mola Baksh, Hussain Wadelha from BNP, Saeed Baloch from Jamaat e Islami and other councilors.
Abid Sohrabi said that all political parties are united on resolving the problems of Gwadar.
Mr. Sohrabi demanded that government servants should cooperate with elected representatives of the people of Gwadar.
He further said that Claims of improvement of Health, Electricity and Water and Fishermen problems are just farce because situation is deteriorating on ground.
“Electricity of Gwadar comes from Iran and people of Gwadar, despite paying [Electricity] bills on time face long hours of load shedding.”
He lamented that People of Gwadar are facing a lot of trouble due to long hours of load shedding in very hot weather.
Chairman Municipal Committee also revealed that there is shortage of Drinking water in Gwadar town.
Focusing on unemployment issues, Mr. Sohrabi said that there a lot of vacancies in different departments in Gwadar but qualified local people are still unemployed. “Gwadar Port Authority (GPA) has many vacancies but local people are never hired on them,” alleged Mr. Sohrabi.
Chairman Municipal Committee thanked Deputy Commissioner (DC) Gwadar, Tufail Baloch, for taking interest in problems of Gwadar.
