Gwadar: Speakers in a ceremony have urged government to take steps to promote Cricket in Gwadar city.
This statement was made by the speakers in the launching ceremony of website of New Star Cricket Club Gwadar, on Sunday.
News Star Crick Club is the first club in Balochistan which has launched its website according to its by-laws.
Chairman Municipal Committee Gwadar, Abid Sohrabi, was the chief guest of the program. Former Senator and veteran Politician Dr. Abdul Hayee Baloch also attended the ceremony.
Speakers in the ceremony said that Youth of Gwadar is not being encouraged to play sports and this is leading them to social evils such as drug addiction.
Speakers lamented that Gwadar was the gateway of Cricket for Makran division but today PCB has not allotted playing rights to Gwadar and it’s tagged with Turbat.
PCB was urged by the speakers to allow Registration of Gwadar and allot it playing rights.
“Gwadar is always in news due to CPEC but no effort is being made to promote sports in the city,” said speakers of the ceremony.
Guests of the program announced a sum of Rs. 70,000 for the club and wished it all the best for future.
In the end Hanif Hussain, General Secretary of New Star Cricket Club thanked the participants.
