Gwadar: China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) can’t be successful until and unless people of Gwadar are made beneficiary of this project, said Deputy Ameer of Jamat-e-Islami (JI).
Rashid Naseem, deputy Ameer of JI made these comments while addressing “Meet the Press program” of Gwadar Press Club, on Monday.
Rashid Naseem was flanked by Molana Hidayat ur Rehman, General Secretary of JI Balochistan and Mahmood Dahoori during the press conference.
JI Deputy Ameer said that Gwadar is the finishing point of CPEC and people of this area have benefitted in no way from this project so far. He lamented that there is load shedding after every two years in the port city of Gwadar.
“Roads are closed in the name of VIP movement and fishermen are stopped from fishing which is their only source of livelihood,” said JI deputy Ameer.
He suggested that Youth of Gwadar should be sent to China for technical training so that they can return and take up technical jobs at Gwadar port.
Addressing the issue of corruption in country, Mr. Naseem said that Corruption is biggest obstacle in the way of national development of Pakistan.
“Corruption of Rs. 12 billion is taking place on daily basis and it’s draining the already scarce resources of the country,” he said.
He also said that Balochistan is not the only province facing corruption and greater corruption is taking place in other provinces.
