Gwadar: Load Shedding Protests Scenario Getting Complicated

Gwadar: Situation after anti-load shedding protests in Gwadar has become complicated.
Jamat e Islami (JI) is leading the protest campaign and some political parties claim that the protest is against the new Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Gwadar, Tufail Baloch under cover of anti load shedding protests.
A sit-in protest of political parties led by JI went violent on Monday and the protestors tried to entire DC office. FIR has been lodged against several political leaders and workers for entering in DC office.

General Secretary of JI Balochistan, Molana Hidayat ur Rehman told press that this protest is against load shedding in Gwadar and in no way against DC Gwadar.
“Some people are using our protest to create grounds for transfer of DC and we will not let that happen,” he said.
According to latest reports Molana Hidaya ur Rehman left for Quetta to consult with provincial leadership of JI on the matter of load shedding and the following protest scenario.

Earlier in the day a meeting of all political parties of Gwadar was held with Deputy Commissioner (DC) Tufail Baloch, in Chair.
Those who attended the meeting included JI Gen Secretary Molana Hidayat ur Rehman, Saeed Hameed Baloch JI district Ameer, Yousaf Farhadi of PPP, Murad Malang of PMLN, Councilors, trader Union leaders and youth leaders of Gwadar.
Leaders of political parties presented their recommendations for solving the problem of load shedding.
DC Gwadar told the participants that QESCO does not fall under the ambit of district administration but he will do what he can to solve this issue.
“We have given a grant of Rs. 15 million for electricity problems in Gwadar and will seek suggestions on how it can be used,” he said.
He informed the political leaders that a letter will be written to QESCO for transfer of SDO of Gwadar due to complaints received against him.
He warned that theft of electricity and irregular electricity connections will not be accepted anymore in Gwadar.
Amidst the meeting, the decorum was broken when multiple speakers started talking simultaneously. DC Gwadar left the meeting as a result which was then chaired by ADC Gwadar Ghulam Shah Qahtani.
Another meeting was chaired by District Chairman of Gwadar, Babu Gulab, about the load shedding issue. It was announced in the meeting that apart from the Rs. 15 million announced by District Administration, Rs. 25 million will be donated by Government of Balochistan for improvement of electricity situation in Gwadar.
XEN Gwadar assured in the same meeting that the issue of load shedding will improve after a week in Gwadar.
