Gwadar: Political leaders and civil society of Gwadar has presented a 13 point charter of demand for solution of problems of Gwadar when the city is becoming an international city.
Charter of Demand was presented in a press conference addressed by political leaders and civil society members in Gwadar Press Club, on Friday.
Press Conference was addressed by Saeed Baloch District Ameer of Jamat-e-Islami (JI), Ghani Hakeem of BNP-Awami, Wahab K.D of Gwadar Traders Association and Councilor Asghar Tayyab of JI.

Political leaders lamented that GPA, GDA, QESCO and Public Health are creating problems rather than facilitating people of Gwadar.
Leaders demanded that first of all water and electricity should be arranged for the growing population of Gwadar.
They also demanded those fishermen who have been affected by Marine Drive project should be provided alternative means of employment.
Charter of Demand also included the demand that Gwadar should be directly supplied electricity from Iran.
Political and civil leaders of Gwadar also demanded that all non-local employees of QESCO should be transferred and replaced with recruiting locals from Gwadar.
Other points that were part of the charter of demanded included:

QESCO should end over-billing in Gwadar

Work on project of providing water to Gwadar city from sod dam should be paced up

Establishing an alternative settlement for those fisherman with full facilities who are affected by expressway

Local youth of Gwadar should be provided jobs in GPA, GDA and all other government departments.

Girls Degree College should be established in Gwadar

People of Gwadar have relations with people across the Iranian border and therefore movement to and from Iran should be made easy for citizens of Gwadar
Political leaders and members of civil society demanded that government should follow the points in charter of demand because it will help in solving the problems.
