Quetta: Few hours of heavy rainfall paralyzed the civic structure in provincial capital of Quetta, on Monday.
Quetta experienced first major rainfall of the monsoon season in afternoon of Monday. Heavy rainfall poured down for couple of hours and it wreaked havoc on the civic structure of the city.

So far, No loss of life has been reported due to heavy rainfall in and around Quetta city.
All the major roads of the city presented the scene of foul smelling drains and pedestrians found it almost impossible to walk on the roads.
Drainage system completely failed and all the rainwater spread on the roads causing long hours of traffic jams at several places in the Quetta.

Zarghoon Road and Sariab Road experienced the worst forms of traffic jams where traffic could not move for several hours and people were trapped inside their vehicles.
“I wasted 4 hours in waiting for the traffic to move and then returned back home hopelessly,” Qurban Ali, a citizen told Balochistan Voices.
“This is apparently what Dubai looks like now,” joked Mr. Qurban while referring to Yesterday’s comment of Chief Minister Balochistan that Quetta has become like Dubai.

Rainwater also entered into a patient ward of Sandman Provincial Hospital Quetta and the video of that went viral on social media and people criticized government for its failure in disposing of rain water.

He also questioned that where is the impact of recently conducted cleanliness campaign in Quetta city?
Government officials visited some places in Quetta city and inspected the arrangements made by city administration and PDMA to clear water from roads.
There are reports that land-sliding suspended traffic on Western Bypass and PDMA and NHA staff worked to clear the road.
Public Relations department of Provincial Government claimed at late night that Sanitation system of Quetta city has been restored and flash flood water has been pumped out of the streets through the utmost efforts of engineers and officials of Metropolitan Corporation, WASA and PDMA.
