Women Entrepreneurship Advocacy Session held in Quetta

Quetta: The first ‘Women Entrepreneurship Advocacy Session in Balochistan was held in Quetta on Wednesday by project Women Can Do WCD.
The Women Entrepreneurship Advocacy Session in Quetta aimed at bringing all the relevant women entrepreneurship stakeholder together and advocate towards women entrepreneurial development needs in Balochistan. The guest of honor to the event include some famous women right activists and political workers of Balochistan including Ms Fahmida Jamili, Mrs Surraiyya Alla Din,Mrs Khurseed Barocha and Mrs Ruqaiyya Hashmi.
The session was attended by some relevant women entrepreneurship advocacy stakeholders including the active businesswomen from the registered Women Chambers of Commerce and Industry Quetta, Entrepreneurial policy advisory bodies including Small and Medium Enterprise Development Authority (SMEDA), Trade and Development Authority Pakistan (TDAP),  Financial service providers like First Women Bank Limited, State bank limited, Bank Alfalah, Academic representatives, incubation heads from Sardar Bahadur Khan Women University, university of Balochistan, Cooperate sector, representatives from public and private organizations, local NGOs and town entrepreneurs. The stakeholders discussed their initiatives and challenges. The WEAP forum provided them with networking opportunity for future collaboration and mobilized to the stakeholders to take action in Sindh.
The academic heads mainly from business department, incubation centers, innovators, accelerators and entrepreneurship societies in different universities took lead in the session, describing current initiatives, challenges, and policy gaps. The WEAP session encouraged all the stakeholders to work together to solve problems faced by their community as entrepreneurial service/opportunity providers. During the session the questions were also taken from the audience comprising of Entrepreneurs, Academic representatives, Media analyst and Social activists.
Some other prominent speakers to the event included Mr Shakoor Ahmed Baloch provincial chief SMEDA, Ms Uzma Naqvi regional manager First women bank limited, Ms Uzma Khalid president Women chamber of commerce and Industry Quetta, Dr Riaz special assistant to Prime Minister of Pakistan and International trade expert, Incubation head at Sardar Bahadur Khan Women University Ms Ayesha Ahmed, Prof Dr. Lal Kakar, renowned social entrepreneur, Nelofar Nazir from state bank of Pakistan and women activist of the region like Ms Nigat Shah, Saima Hassan and Mahzareen Gul.
