Mashkel is a Tehsil situated on Pak-Iran border in Washuk district. This area provides livelihood to thousands of people due to its border trade. With a population of approximately 30,000 people, Mashkel faces plethora of problems.
There are just 29 schools in entire Mashkel Tehsil. Out of these only 14 schools, in Urban areas, are functional and rest of them only exist on papers. The functional schools also have just one to two teachers and they fail to impart quality education to people.
There are many small villages in Mashkel which have hundreds of school going children and no school in them. Those children are left with no option but to involve in manual labor or crimes to earn a livelihood when they grow up.

There are villages where hundreds of schools going age children live and there is no school and these children are left with the option to do manual labor when they grow up and also get involve in crimes.
Similarly, the status of healthcare is also not satisfactory and there is just one hospital which is in poor shape. There are no doctors in the said hospital and people are left with no choice but transport their patients to Dalbandin or Washuk city which are at a drive of 3 to 4 hours.
People of Mashkel blame their elected representatives for the problems in the area. MNA, MPA and District representatives only visit Mashkel at the time of elections and they are not concerned about the problems of people afterwards.
People of Mashkel appeal from Chief Minister of Balochistan, Nawab Sanaullah Zehri, Chief Justice of Balochistan High court Justice Noor Muhammad Meskanzai and MNA of the area Federal Minister General (R) Abdul Qadir Baloch to take actions to solve the problems of the area.
They demand that people in Mashkel should get all the rights as the citizens of Pakistan. They demand that Hospitals and schools should be developed to provide the basic facilities to the people. They want those in powers to allow the people of Mashkel to live a decent life.
