In Gwadar city the users of PTCL Broadband, EVO Wingle and Cloud deposit the monthly charges in the office of Noor Communications which is the distributor of PTCL in Gwadar. However when people have to make complaints about service problems then Noor Communications is not respnsible to receive the complaints.
People of Gwadar pay for internet charges of different packages of PTCL for the complete month but they hardly get Internet service for 7-10 days. There is no place where they can launch complaints against service problems in Gwadar.
Service of PTCL EVO Wingle is very good in many large and small cities of Pakistan. However in the case of Gwadar the situation is different and the people of the town have no idea that what they are being provided with poor quality internet.

When people use PTCL internet services in Gwadar mostly the service is not available and when it’s available it hardly works. Users have to wait a great deal of time just to upload small size files and download something.
There is a huge office of PTCL in Gwadar but there is shortage of staff. Only two officers are available in the office. When they are asked the reason for service problem of EVO then they come up with the answer that, “It’s not our job. Our job is only to sort out DSL and telephone. If you still have any complaint then please ask Noor Communications, the distributor of EVO.”
Thousands of people use EVO Wingle in Gwadar. They have to go to Ufone office and face a great deal of inconvenience of re-verification of their Evo devices. People ask the question that why there is shortage of staff in PTCL office because that’s the place where the re-verification should have been done. Officers posted in PTCL Gwadar office are non-local and they do not bother to talk to people in proper way.
In Gwadar the internet service problems is just the hide and seek played by mouse and cat.
Aslam, a student, told this scribe that he could not fill his job application form on time due to poor quality internet and lost the opportunity to complete for the job. Similarly, another student who was applying for a foreign scholarship also could not fill his form on time due to internet problems. This has forced the youth of Gwadar to think that why they are being deprived of the facility of quality internet in the province.
Gwadar has now acquired the status of an international city but still the people of Gwadar are deprived of basic internet service on regular basis.
Warid introduced 4G internet service in Gwadar which worked well in first few days but now it has also started making problems like PTCL. All cellular companies claim to provide good quality internet to people in Gwadar. Their service is good in other areas of the country but in Gwadar it’s abysmal.
People of Gwadar demand that it’s their right to receive good quality internet service on regular basis. They demand that Pakistan Telecommunication (PTA) should take action against PTCL and ensure that it provides service to people for the amounts that it charges from them. PTCL also needs to increase its staff in the city and ensure that they behave well with the consumers.
