A delegation of members of Gwadar Press Club embarked on a country-wide study tour on 15th July. Purpose of this tour was to provide the much needed exposure to the journalists of Gwadar, which is expected to be a mega-city in the years to come.
Karachi was the first stop of the delegation where they first visited the office of Vsh News and met with its CEO Ahmed Iqbal. On the same day the delegation visited Karachi Press club and met with renowned journalists including Tahir Hassan Khan, Saeed Sarbazi, Arif Bloch, Zafar Baloch and Ishaq Baloch.

During the meeting with the journalists of Karachi, delegation of Gwadar discussed issues such as CPEC and the problems faced by the old city of Gwadar.
During their tour the delegation of Gwadar Press Club ensured that they managed to visit different Press Clubs all over the country. They visited Press Clubs in Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Multan, Islamabad and Peshawar. Delegation interacted with journalists in all these press clubs and exchanged views with them.
Moreover, journalists of Gwadar found Lahore to be the most beautiful of all cities and much ahead in terms of development. Management of Lahore Press Club arranged a delicious lunch for the delegation and also presented them with shields and bouquets.
During their interactions with journalists all over Pakistan, Gwadar’s Journalists discussed that at the time of establishment of port government made certain promise such as establishment of Marine University, Technical College, Health Facilities, small water breaking points for fisherman and none of these promises have been made good so far.
They also discussed during the meeting that fishermen are not allowed in sea for fishing for several days due to security and VIP movement. Fishermen are also facing problems in East and West Bay. Until and unless the local people of Gwadar take benefit of the development of Gwadar the project can’t be successful, journalists of Gwadar old their colleagues on other Press Clubs.

On 23rd July delegation reached Islamabad Secretariat where it was welcomed by Saba uddin Qazi, Program Officer Social Media Development and Communication Ministry of Planning, Development and reforms. Later the delegation met the Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal in the office of the ministry.
Ahsan Iqbal assured the delegation that soon a survey will be conducted of Gwadar Press Club building and a state of the art building will be constructed in its place. Journalists will also be provided the facility of free education and healthcare of their children in schools and hospitals run by Gwadar Development Authority, He announced.
The tour of journalists of Gwadar ended on 29th July when the delegation returned back to Gwadar.
