Kalat: Man Brutally Slit Throats of Two Wives for Honor

Kalat: In a case of honor killing, a man has slit the throats of two of his wives in Kalat district, on Tuesday night, learnt Balochistan Voices.
Din Jan Bangulzai, 45, a farmer by profession killed his two wives in Mohammad Tawa village of Union Council Nichara which is situated at a distance of 70 Kilometer from Kalat city.
A Local Levies official who is investigating the case told Balochistan Voices that Din Jan tied the hands of both of his wives and beat them from night till dawn on the allegation that they were having an extra-marital affair. “He slit their throats like sacrificial animals in morning time before fleeing from the area,” said the official.

Levies Force after reaching the site of the crime found the knife which was used for murders and a memory card.
“Memory card contained confessional statements of the two slain wives that they were involved in extra-marital affairs,” said Levies Official. He suspected that these confessional statements were extracted under duress.
Levies force in District Kalat has registered a case against Din Jan for murder of his two wives. Din Jan along with his two sons is at large and Levies Officials are searching for them.
According to close relatives of Din Jan who requested to be anonymous said that Din Jan had three wives and he killed his last two wives which he had married in last three years.

Din Jan has 12 Children from his first wife including 5 girls. 3 of the girls were married at young age and two of them were married in Wata-sata, a form of exchange woman for woman, for two wives of Din Jan whom he murdered. He had No children from his last two wives.
According to report of Aurat Foundation, a Non-governmental organization working for Women rights, 24 cases of honor killing were reported in Balochistan in year 2015 and 20 of these cases were reported from Naseerabad division bordering Sindh.
Historically there have been negligible instances of honor killing outside of Naseerabad division and especially in Kalat Division.
