Quetta: Veteran journalist and current President of Quetta Press Club, Shahzada Zulfiqar, has been conferred with President’s Award for Pride of Performance.
He is the first working journalist in Balochistan to get this distinction.
Mr. Zulfiqar was part of list of 109 citizens of Pakistan and 23 foreign nationals who were conferred with civil awards by President Mamnoon Hussain on Independence Day.
Mr. Zulfiqar has been engaged in journalism for almost 3 decades and his genre of journalism has been English Print journalism. He has reported for several English language dailies and magazines form Quetta including The Nation, Pakistan Today, Newsline and AFP.
Balochistan Union of Journalist (BUJ) congratulated Shahzada Zulfiqar on his nomination for the prestigious Pride of Performance award.
Other people from Balochistan who were conferred for President’s Award for Pride of Performance are Prof Dr Javed Iqbal, Vice Chancellor of University of Balochistan and Wasim Baloch, the Boxer.
