Literary Giant Abdullah Jan Jamaldini Passed Away

Quetta: Literary Giant Abdullah Jan Jamaldini passed away at the age of 94 in Quetta, on Monday.
He was suffering from a paralysis since the early 1990s.
Abdullah Jan Jamaldini was born in 1922 in, what is now, Noshki district of Balochistan. Mr. Jamaldini quit his job as Naeb-Tehsildar in 1953 to pursue literary activities. He then joined University of Balochistan and retired as an Assistant Professor form the institute in 1986.
He was a noted Author and Editor of several magazines and literary publications.
He started a training movement for the people in 1950 with the name of Lat Khana which made huge impacts on the society.
He was immortalized by his autobiography which was also published under the name of Lat-Khana in 2003.
Fans and followers of Abdullah Jan Jamaldini used to visit his home every weekend to what was called Balochistan Sunday Party. Since 1993, Balochistan Sunday Party was taking place regularly on last day of the week. Initially it was called Balochistan Friday Party because Friday was the weekly holiday. Since 1998, it was renamed as Balochistan Sunday Party when Sunday was made weekly holiday by then Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
Funeral prayer of Abdullah Jan Jamaldini would be held in Killi Bato Nushki on 11 AM on Tuesday.
