Gwadar: A walk was conducted for raising awareness about school enrollment in Gwadar which ended up in form of a program in Government Girls High School Shambay Ismaili.
Participants of the walk were carrying placards which contained the slogan “Gwadar can only progress through Education.”
Colonel (R) Saeed Ahmed Baloch, Admin officer of Gwadar Port Authority (GPA) was chief guest of the program. “I belong to a backward area of Balochistan, Kharan, I have reached this stage due to education and my hard work,” he said.
He also annoucned a grant of Rs. 20,000 for the school.
Khan Muhammad, District Education Officer Gwadar said that no nation can develop without education. He thanked media for covering the event and facilitating in raising awareness about education.
Mir Rashid Kalmati said that MPA of Gwadar, Mir Hammal Kalmati, is really concerned about the educational problems of Gwadar and doing his best to resolve them.
Hassan Baloch Principal of Government High School Jadeed urged that along with increasing the enrollment the government should also focus on increasing teachers and school buildings.
Faiz ur Rehman, Coordinator of UNICEF, said that It’s our goal that no student is left out of school. “We have managed to enroll several students in schools with the help of civil society.”
Begum Nisa, Headmistress of the school where program was held, delivered vote of thanks and encouraged the people to promote the school enrollment campaign.
