Firstly, I define what is career counselling itself. Career counselling is a process which helps people to know and understand themselves and the world of work in order to take career, educational and life decisions. Career development is more than just deciding on a major and what job you want to get when you graduate.
Career counselling is one of the major issues in Pakistan as well as Balochistan. It is the source of getting important field in our future. Further, it always makes our target strong with effort. But unfortunately, in Balochistan the students career counselling is not carried out during 9th and 10th because in here whatever the students want they do not get.
Most importantly, they can suffer a lot of problem in college level. It is really a painful issue where the students face many problem by the lack of career counselling in day by day. In the same way, before this year some of students from Quetta they become compelled to leave their education. Anyhow, if we see in Pakistan as well as same issue has been going on.
Most of the students of Pakistan, where literacy rate is so low, are not career counseled. How they can be guided about career direction and it’s of our country that even many educated people they don’t think about this critical issue. Many parents force their children to choose the field they decided for them. This is somewhat we call career counselling is too provide direction for the course of action which is right direction career decision for them is called career counselling.
However, we don’t have career counselors in Pakistan other than a few institutions which higher career counselors go to judge their students. Students should be able to consult their teachers, parents and friends in this regard particularly the persons that are already attached with the profession they are interested in.
Thus, I would like to suggest the government and all the educational institutions to go for clearing students about career counselling. Because a country can bring development socially, economically and politically, when its youth in a right path. All efforts and energy should be spent merely on career counselling, since it’s the need of time.
