Islamabad: Senate Functional Committee on Problems of Less Developed Areas Monday asked Higher Education Commission (HEC) to increase scholarships for the students of Balochistan province.
The committee met at the Parliament House under the chairmanship of Senator Muhammad Usman Khan Kakar. Senator Muhammad Azam Khan Musakhel, Senator Jahanzeb Jamaldini, Senator Maulana Tanvirul Haq Thanvi, Senator Khalida Parveen and Senator Gianchand attended the meeting.
The committee told the officials to implement the recommendations of establishing new universities in Balochistan.
HEC was found involved in depriving Balochistan of its share in resource distribution and HEC even conceded this point.
