Anti-Polio Campaign to Commence from 19th December

Quetta: Three Days Anti Polio campaign will start in 30 Districts of Balochistan from 19th of December.

During campaign 2.4 million children will be administered anti-polio drops. During this campaign team will sway children Vitamin-A drops. More than 9 thousand 287 teams will take part, in which 8 thousand 99 Mobile team, 815 fixed site and 373 transit points are also mentioned.

Pakistan and Afghanistan are two countries where Polio virus is exist. During 2016, 1 Polio case has been reported in Balochistan which belongs to Quetta. But in Quetta and Qilla Abdullah Polio Virus is still present which is critical.

Quetta, Pishin and especially in Qilla Abdullah children have threat to impact by polio virus. Technical advisory group on Polio has given advice to the Balochistan Government in presence of Polio virus in Qilla Abdullah to give special attention and work to eradicate polio virus

Syed Faisal Ahmed Coordinator EPI Center Balochistan told that security arrangements are completed where due to need Balochistan Levies and Police will disperse and FC will provide extra security. Parents are requested to acquaint polio drops to their children and keep it continue in every campaign because this virus prevail here and it can attack children.
