Quetta: On December 1, Balochistan Voices became the first media organization in Balochistan to produce a data driven story.
The story titled “Pakistan: Governance fails to improve partially due to vacancies in key organizations” was the first data driven story which was ever produced by any news media in Balochistan.
Data journalism is about the increased use of numerical data in the production and distribution of information in the digital era. It reflects the increased interaction between journalists and several other fields such as designers, computer scientists and statisticians.
From the point of view of journalists, Data Journalism represents an overlapping set of competencies drawn from disparate fields.
Balochistan Voices vows to work on more data driven stories and it intends to launch a separate section for Data Journalism.
Balochistan Voices also encourages the writers and contributors from Balochistan to produce data stories. Balochistan Voices is ready to extend all possible help to all such aspiring contributors.
