Quetta: Ali Akbar, an employee of Levies Force in Zehri Tehsil of District Khuzdar, was diagnosed with cancer. He pleaded his case to authorities but he did not get any help until civil society activists highlighted his case.
Members of Civil Society Balochistan (CSB), Khuzdar zone, identified his case and brought it to the attention of Zia Khan, founder of Quetta Online. He then highlighted the case in main WhatsApp group of CSB.
Case of Ali Akbar was then highlighted in different forums where it was noticed by high government officials. Within half hour DC Khuzdar, Secretary Health and Baloch Doctor’s Forum responded and assured their full support.
Meanwhile, Waseem Baig, a local philanthropist offered his services for provision of medicine for Ali Akbar.
At the present moment the case for financing the treatment expenditure of Ali Akbar is in Civil Secretariat
CSB has vowed to pursue the case until the treatment of Ali Akbar effectively begins.
In the past, Civil Society Balochistan started the trend of helping cancer patients with the successful campaign for cancer patient Hajira bibi.
