Balochistan has a lowest literacy rate of 44 percent among the provinces, and paradoxically it has dropped 3.67 education score according to the 2015 reports of Alif Ailaan, even though 16% funds were increased in last year budget for education. According to the same report, only Quetta was the only city, which ranked among top fifty cities in education scoring of the country, and even FATA enhanced its education score without having its province.  What element is missing?
No one is capable of perceive in such sector, and of course the most significant of all, for the development of this province and educating its people in order to compete on national and international level, and bless this province of 16th century with moving institutions and professionals. Why should anyone analyze it in this unit without having qualitative people? Even-though if this unit fortunately gets some faces, are yet not utilized by the poor vision of government. Money begets money, and quality begets quality.
Provincial government is indeed, reluctant to spend its resources on quality as other governments do so. The only hope is, ‘to utilize the skillful citizens’ Examination is a bitter page of this chapter, and it has to be bitterly criticized too in this province. One can simply compare the examination system of this province with the rest of the units, and I am sure it is a dilemma for the people of Balochistan and incapability of the authority in this sector of all relevant institutions.
It is not only the short coming of Balochistan BISE and Balochistan University, but of entire education system that rests with the province, having poor quality of education from primary to master level. On one side cheating is permitted, and on other, teachers feel great pleasure to pass the students with extremely low marks which mostly they don’t deserve, then either most of the students stop their regular education or can’t get admission in elite institutions of the country, that are almost all outside the province and requiring good grades, in addition to enough expenses.
Besides all criticism, I and all people of the province must appreciate the reforms introduced in the previous government and is continued, and in this I would mostly encourage the official website of Balochistan BISE, particularly in examination, in 2013. In addition to it, much has been changing since then. I wish it gets speedier with the addition of enzymes. It is well known that the province is facing the music of security but it is not the actual excuse, and the whole country is facing it hardly, and where Balochistan is concerned, to me it lacks professionals to put their province on a straight track.
Emergency in education is the utter requirement of this time, and this is only what can provide diamond pillars to strengthen the development bridge of the province. Only claims and promises of reforms and betterment cannot work nor blames are acceptable any more, rather practical job is essential.
Recruiting teachers on merit base was obviously appreciating step of the previous government but the task does not end here rather they must be trained at national and international level to provide real quality education to the students and resources must be spend on them to bear its fruit too.
After the 18th Amendment, if not in abundance but a lot of subjects have been given to the constitutional units, in fact, all education sector. Now it is no more in father’s power, and children have grown to take their own decisions, yet Balochistan seems a lazy brother among the others. At least, education sector can have a quick revolution, but I may be forgetting the incapability of its uncertain employees.
No doubt, recent reforms in examination is really appreciative, I focus on it time and again to encourage the people who are really dedicated, but yet we in real want a magic lamp that cannot be compromised as such significant base for the bright future of coming generation. Education department can take help of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa education department through Provincial Coordinating Ministry of state, and also the policies of those developed states, which have been victorious to attain such goals, and go on high speed to empower the people of resource rich and skilled-less province.
