Quetta: People of Mastung are deprived of basic facilities of life, learnt Balochistan Voices.
Mastung District has 3 Tehsils and a population of over 250,000. 20 sweepers have been appointed on 1964 to clean city area of Metropolitan. This staff is very low to provide the needed services. The sweeper staff is also facing a lot of hurdles in cleanliness campaign.
Due to a report the government has converted Mastung in to committee and after that it has been upgraded into Municipal committee in 1980, due to the passage of time it’s population was populated on just thousands kilometers. After deprivation of 66 years this city is mostly dumping in different problems.
Due to basic needs of population the sweeper staff is being appointed nor has Mastung been given a grade of Municipal Corporation. The lower staff having a lot of problems and garbage along with polythene bags making dirt and impacted water sanitation which causes disturbance for people on shank’s pony.
Zubair Rodini resident of Sor Gaz Mastung said that there is no cleanliness in different areas of Mastung. Dust and flies come from dirt and cause increase in different throat and viral diseases in children. There is also lack of basic health facilities in DHQ.
Other residents and tribal people told Balochistan Voices that it is difficult to spend life without basic health and other facilities. It is our right to get all needed facilities due to the law. Very sad that public representatives have forgotten people after government.
People demand from CM Balochistan and other related officials to take notice and appoint permanent staff of Municipal Committee and ensure basic health facilities in DHQ Mastung.
