Chagai: killing of a driver during robbery bid triggered protests in Nok Kundi where enraged mob assaulted a house of local tribal elder accusing him responsible for the robbery and killing of a local driver.
According to local administration the few drivers were on their way near Nok Kundi on Tuesday morning when robbers intercepted them and looted their hundreds of thousand rupees who later ran away but the victims along with their relatives followed the accused robbers and eventually the robbers opened firing on them which resulted in killing of a driver Laal Jan.
After the incident a lot of people gathered there in shape of a enraged mob assembled on the RCD highway and Blocked the road for few hours which caused suspension of traffic, the shops in Nok Kundi bazar were closed as well.
Protesters finally assaulted a house in Labor school residential area and torched 3 vehicles there which is said to be a residence of local tribal Sardar where exchange of firing between mob and the residents of the house also occurred but no loss was reported.
FC and levies men tried to control the situation but people continued their protest by blocking the RCD highway who demanded immediate arrest of the robbers which fulfilled after the directions of Deputy Commissioner Chagai Shaihak Baloch who said that levies Force under the command of Assistant Commissioner Dalbandin had arrested 2 robbers and lodged FIR against them.
Finally the Protesters ended their protest.
