Karachi: National Commission for Human Rights (NCHR) held a matter in Karachi to get the point of view of Baloch intellectuals and journalists about different issues in Balochistan, on Friday.
Justice retired Ali Nawaz Chohan, Chairman NCHR presided over the meeting. Fazeela Aliani member NCHR was also part of the meeting.
Justice Chohan said that he feels bad about the martyrdom of Nawab Akbar Bugti and believes that situation in Balochistan deteriorated after his death. He further said that local people should get equal share in all agreements signed with China.
Distinguished intellectuals and journalists including Amanullah Gichki, Yousaf Mustikhan, Anwar Sajdi, Nargis Baloch, Akram Dashti and Tania Baloch, Ahmad Iqbal Baloch, Aman Baloch and Professor Kulsoom Jamali addressed the event.
Participants said that its time to accept the existence and rights of Baloch. State has not showed interests in matters of Balochistan and that’s why people are fighting for their rights for a long time.
They also added that more freedom should be provided to the media and they should be allowed to cover Balochistan freely. Ensuring freedom of expression is the need of the hour in Balochistan.
Balochistan should have the right of ownership over their resources, urged the Baloch intellectuals.
