Letter: Kassak – A Neglected Village

People in Kassak, a village near Turbat city, have been victimized by a lot of problems including education crisis being one of the major issues for them.  People along with students are facing problems in acquiring education. Lack of quality education and institutions is the biggest issue that has left students idle and deprived of educational environment.
There is only one primary school that was established in 1998. The school’s classrooms are not enough for the students where more than hundreds of students are attending classes and are compelled to sit under the sun to study as well as simmer in hot temperature. The school also lacks teachers who either seem non serious or enlisted as ghost teachers.
On the other hand, the rich families get their children enrolled in private schools in Turbat leaving poor students bear the brunt of negligence. Being a college student, I see none of our educated or influential people speaking for the rights of students in Kassak village.
Balochistan is considered the richest province of Pakistan but still it is facing problems. Education in Villages is ignored and students remain detached from education. When Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch became CM of Balochistan, we, the students of Kassak and other villages, hoped that he would help us with providing quality education but his government’s negligence belied our hopes.
Incumbent government of Balochistan is requested to take some serious steps to solve the educational problems in Kassak in order to secure the future of students. It should also appoint teachers for Kassak primary school while making it a middle school so that the students must not face problems in getting education.
