Quetta: An education awareness stall titled “Struggle for science and our public schools” was staged at Quetta press club by team Alif Ailaan on the occasion of International Baloch culture day program, on Thursday.
March 2nd, is celebrated as Baloch culture day every year by Baloch people residing in different parts of the world.
Education stall was visited by numerous social, political and media persons including Senator Mir Kabeer Jan Mohammad Shahi of National Party.
Saad Ullah Baloch, regional campaign organizer of Alif Ailaan, said that the objective of conducting awareness stall is to link education with culture because there is a dire need of an educated society to meet up with the needs of 21st century.
He further said that in order to tackle the challenge of quality education, Pakistan Alliance for Maths and Science, a collective of leading education policy makers, civil society, science experts as well as industry leaders have joined hands to publish and promote a three volume report titled, “Powering Pakistan for the 21st Century”.
Each of the three volumes have attempted to establish a strong narrative in favour of better maths and science education in Pakistani classrooms, he added.
