Surab: Under construction girls and boys colleges of Surab are still incomplete for last 13 years. Boys College Surab was handed over to the Education Department in 2004 but thirteen years later, the construction process is still not completed.
Now the construction process has completely halted and Boys College of Surab is presenting scene of ruins.
Mr. Mohammad Asif a student of Inter College Surab told Balochistan Voices that both girls and boys take our Intermediate classes in one of primary level building in two shifts of morning and evening till the construction of college complete. “Unfortunately after thirteen years under construction colleges are still incomplete,” He added.
On the other hand, in Surab there are many students of some villages who got education without any school or college building. “The government has to take a serious action about this issue and ensure the early completion of the building,” lamented Mr. Asif.
Mr. Abid Hussain a senior student of Inter College Surab said that it should be clear that there are two separate buildings for the colleges. “5% work of Boys College whereas 50% work of the Girls College is remaining,” He added.
He condemned the lack of interest by the department in this matter which is a huge problem for people of Surab.
Reportedly, six class rooms of primary section of the high school are being used for the boys and girls college. Due to lack of space, teachers and students are facing not only severe difficulties, but the field of laboratory, sports and other activities are also not available.
Although the population of Surab is increasing rapidly, and also the trend of learning but a new generation of such a large population is still without Degree College. This is the main reason that after intermediate many students have no choice but to give up education. Elected representatives need to contribute on the basis of preferential treatment of the both colleges building, added Mr. Hussain.
Public circles of Surab have urged Government of Balochistan to take urgent measures to pace up the work on under construction Girls and Boys college of Surab.
