Quetta: Ruling Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) has alleged the recent By-Election in PB-7 for the Balochistan Assembly seat in Sanjavi in the district of Balochistan’s Ziarat were rigged and one sided. This allegation was made by Majeed Khan Achakzai who is chairman of the Public Accounts Committee of the Balochistan Assembly, in Quetta Press Club in a press conference, on Tuesday.
“We had already informed the Returning Officer (RO) regarding sensitive polling stations, in which we had pinpointed about ‘rigging, fighting, and the usage of forged Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs),” said Mr. Achakzai while addressing the press conference.
He claimed that on Election Day forged votes and CNICs had been used since morning. He complained that District election Commissioner and Returning Officers were told about the irregularities but none of them took notice of it.
Chairman Public Accounts Committee also accused law enforcement agencies for baton charge and firing at the polling stations, where PkMAP had backing.
According to unofficial results, the Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam’s (JUI-F) candidate, Khalil-Ur-Rehman Dummer, has won in By-Election for the Balochistan Assembly seat. Syed Noor Muhammad Dummer of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) was on second position, and PkMAP’s candidate Dr. Habib-Ur-Rehman was on third position.
However, PkMAP leader requested to stop the official results of the By-Election until or unless votes are counter-checked and verified in the presence of NADRA officials.
