Taftan: Pilgrims Protest for Provision of Security

Taftan: Pilgrims staged a protest demonstration for provision of adequate security, on Sunday.
Pilgrims who had returned from Iran held this protest in Taftan town which is the entry point in Pakistan for them.
Pilgrims, who were around 200 in number blocked RCD highway in protests and demanded from government to beef of security of their convoys. Pilgrims chanted slogans against the administration and demanded foolproof security for their travel back to Quetta.
Long queues of vehicles crowded the highway due to the protest.
Deputy Commissioner Chagai, Shahaik Baloch, arrived on the scene and held negotiations with the protestors. They were assured of maximum security all the way from Taftan to Quetta. The protestors later dispersed peacefully.
