Quetta: Civil Society Protested Against Lynching of Mashal

Quetta: Members of civil society staged a demonstration against brutal killing of Journalism student Mashal Khan in Abdul Wali Khan, in front of Quetta Press Club on Saturday.
Protestors chanted slogans against brutal killing of Mishal Khan and against Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government.
Sami Zarkoon, civil activist, said that Mashal Khan was not a single person but a lightening candle of hope towards a bright future. “Universities are providers of new progressive and change maker personalities, we don’t need institutions which are promoting intolerance among youth,” He added.
Mr. Zarkoon urged that Pashtun and Baloch need to be a wall of iron in front of intolerance and raise voice against it.

Professor Sajid Buzdar said that History is evident that people have been killed in the name of religion which is not fair. He said that there are people who are not in favor of development and progressive thoughts, but no one can hide the truth.

“Mashal Khan has given us a lesson of sacrifice for education and bright future.” said Changez Baloch while he was expressing views in front of demonstration. He further added that Islam is a religion of peace, security and justice, it does not allow to kill anyone.
Khair Muhammad Kakar said that everyone is free to live his own life. “Let’s come and be united for our collective security.”
Wali Khan, a student, said that not only Mashal was killed but a progressive mind and vision was silenced yesterday.
Demonstrators demanded to arrest killers of Mashal and make an example out of them.
